There will be an added bonus when a guitar signed by rock legend Eric Clapton is auctioned for charity at North Walsham this weekend.

The Classic Clapton tribute band got to hear about jeweller Barry Holden's local Live Aid gig, which is being boosted by his bumping into Clapton at a hotel and asking the maestro to autograph the instrument.

Now, the band has given two passes to its April 4 show at the Maddermarket Theatre in Norwich because it is so impressed with Mr Holden's efforts.

These will be added to the guitar lot, which also includes the signatures of Mike Rutherford, from Genesis, and Procol Harum singer Gary Brooker.

Mr Holden is hoping for a good turnout for the Live Aid concert taking place at North Walsham Community Centre on Saturday from 8pm to 1am.

The events have raised 15,000 for various children's causes over the years.

This year's is in aid of Children with Leukaemia and features bands Beyond Duplication, Raw Edge, Circus, Ultra Ego and Pinto, who are giving their services free.

For 8 tickets and to lodge bids for the celebrity lots, contact Mr Holden at Zelleys, in the St Nicholas Court precinct, on 01692 402123, or via 01692 403883 and 07903 902731.
