Thousands of music fans are set to mark England's World Cup kick off in style at the weekend with the team's official song.

Indie band Embrace will be playing to a sold-out concert at Thetford Forest just hours after England's game with Paraguay tomorrow.

And Forestry Commission officials are hoping for an even more electric atmosphere if World at Your Feet is performed to a crowd of 6,000 jubilant football fans.

The official anthem, which does not feature the words 'football' or 'ENG - ER - LAND' is expected to go high in the UK singles charts at the weekend, ahead of a plethora of World Cup themed songs.

Anne Embry, from High Lodge, said she could only speculate that Embrace would be playing the football tune because the band had not provided a set list.

“We are fairly sure that they will play it whether England win or lose because it is a current single.

“If England lose, the fans will come to cheer themselves up and if we win, it will only help boost the euphoria,” she said.

Bassist Steve Firth recently said he was looking forward to the start of the UK forest tour.

“The match is a 2pm, so the sound check will have to have to be early or after the match. If England win then it's going to be a great celebration, if they lose then we'll have to do an amazing gig to cheer everyone up,” he said.
