The hunt is on for people, including youngsters, to star in a special Cromer production of the stage musical Oliver.

The Cromer and Sheringham Operatic and Dramatic Society is marking its centenary in 2014 and chosen the popular singalong show especially.

Director Amanda Howell said: 'We are keen to involve as many youngsters as possible in this show as we are celebrating our 100th birthday and they are our future.'

The society is looking for two sets of boys to play Oliver, The Artful Dodger and members of Fagin's gang, as well as girls to take part in the big opening sequence of the show.

Many youngsters have already applied to audition, but more are needed. Children must be five years old or older, and enjoy being on stage, singing, acting, dancing, having fun, having their photos taken, being in costume, and being the stars of the show.

Auditions for the May 24-31 show will be on Sunday December 1 in Cromer. Any young person who wants to audition has until November 22 to register. Full details are on the Society's new website www.csods.com.
