Celebrate Christmas - medieval style!

Norwich's very own early music experts Minstrels Gallery will recreate the festivities of the past in music, song and verse in the magnificent medieval setting of Dragon Hall.

Playing on a wide range of medieval and renaissance instruments, the minstrels will lead their audience through 500 years of Christmas revelling from the beauty of medieval carols to the sound of a peasant barn dance through to fireside songs from an English tavern.

Appearing in colourful period costume, the group will illustrate the music with anecdotes and verse from the time promising a lively and enlightening evening of seasonal entertainment. Minstrels Gallery have performed throughout the UK and aim to bring early music to new audiences.

The often lively and rhythmic vivacity of the music, along with the unusual sound and appearance of the many instruments they play, sparks the imagination of listeners as they perform on more than 40 period instruments.

The evening of seasonal entertainment will also include mulled wine and mince pies.
