Acclaimed singer Catherine Feeny plays her first date in Norfolk for more than a year tonight (7.30pm) at the Norwich Playhouse in St George's Street.
Formerly based in Los Angeles, the singer-songwriter took the unorthodox step of relocating to Norfolk to record her latest album and launch her bid for major success.
She's now signed to Tallgrass Records where her latest album, Hurricane Glass, has been attracting excellent reviews, with her voice compared to Joni Mitchell, Beth Orton and early Sheryl Crow.
Catherine has toured extensively, with dates round the UK, United States and Europe with the likes of Dr John and Martha Wainwright. Catherine said: “With all the record company commitments and overseas dates I just haven't been able to play Norwich for a long time, I love the city and region, it's been very welcoming to me and it's home now. I really want to make this show special for all the many people who've supported me right from when I first came here.”
She'll be supported by Holly Lerski, formerly of Angelou, who is back in the area after a couple of years away in Manchester.
The line-up will be completed by Catherine's producer Sebastian Rogers, himself a talented singer-songwriter.
Tickets £10, concs £8, from Norwich Arts Centre on 01603 660352 or from Soundclash, St Benedict's Street, Norwich.
