Classical concert-goers to a proms event planned for Blickling Hall next summer will be able to get into James Bond mode - as the event will include a celebration of 007's famous movie themes.

The men will have more excuse than usual to don tuxedos and picnic under the stars at the stunning lakeside setting with their glamorous 'Bond girls'. Champagne also often flows at the National Trust park's classical concerts, but organisers hope the heady cocktail of the orchestra, Bond music, a choreographed Spitfire flying display, and a flag-waving singalong Last Night of the Proms finale will leave the crowds shaken and stirred.

The proms event is back by popular demand after its success last year, reviving the early days of Blickling concerts, which began as classical and evolved into pop and rock gigs.

The return of classics last summer was promoted by Revival productions, in association with the EDP, and the two are teaming up again for an encore next summer, on Saturday August 10.

Venue marketing manager Jo Bosch said: 'We had terrific feedback after the proms this year, because people thought we had really returned to our roots.'

The Sinfonia Viva orchestra will play the Bond theme tune itself, as was as other classics such as Diamonds Are Forever, Nobody Does it Better, Goldfinger, Thunderball, Live and Let Die, From Russia with Love, Moonraker and You Only Live Twice.

The concert comes as the Bond phenomenon marks its 50th anniversary, and will include a return of the 'dancing' Spitfire fighter flown by Carolyn Grace at this summer's event.

It will also feature other movie music and a fireworks finale.

There is free parking and people are encouraged to bring picnics and there will be a limited number of gazebos available to book.
