The whirlwind adventures of young Dorothy Gale are coming to Aylsham this month, as the Aylsham Players present their production of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Talented Aylsham High School student Leah Colebrooke takes the lead role of Dorothy in this creative dramatic adaptation of the original book by L. Frank Baum.
True to the original story, four witches reside in the Land of Oz, but when Dorothy's house is spectacularly swept up in a cyclone and lands on top of the Wicked Witch of the East, four become three, leaving two good and one very bad!
The endearing friendship of the much-loved characters Scarecrow, Tinman and the Cowardly Lion, will delight audiences as they join Dorothy on her journey to find the Wizard of Oz in the Emerald City.
Tracking the four friends' every move is the Wicked Witch of the West who, assisted by her not-so-bright, but humorous, sidekicks the Flying Monkeys, will stop at nothing to retrieve the magic shoes from Dorothy.

This up-lifting show includes memorable songs, merry Munchkins and dancing from the Sutton School of Dance.
If all that wasn't enough, the 'Aww' factor comes in the form of loveable Yorkshire terrier Mia, a guaranteed scene stealer in the role of Dorothy's beloved dog, Toto.
