Ardal's humour is an interesting blend of everyday life, combined with local, national and international events.
His observations of family life and relationships hit the right chord with an enthusiastic audience.
And he did his homework on local issues, which went down well, especially his comments about the abolition of Bury Town Council.
At times his humour was very subtle and the audience seemed a step behind... or was it a thoughtful pause?
The second half warmed up a lot more and his encore was a no-holds-barred affair. His interaction with the audience was an enjoyable feature, making you feel part of it. The latecomers could have felt embarrassed, but that is stand-up humour for you.
