Cheers! A new event - staged in association with the EDP - celebrates regional real ale and England's only whisky distillery.

Beer for Sharing is being held at the elegant St George's Distillery at Harling Road, Roudham (just off the A11 on the B111, sat nav NR16 2QW) is held on the Friday January 16 and Saturday January 17, from noon each day.

You can sample as many of the festival's 100 real ales as you like in third-of-a-pint tasting glasses for a single entrance fee of 15 (buy four and there's an extra free ticket for the designated non-drinking driver).

See if you agree with the verdicts of the SIBA Real Ale Challenge tasting panel which will meet the day before.

It's also a great opportunity to match a hearty feast to as many of the festival's local ales as you wish to try for a single ticket price.

While you're there take a tour of the distillery and visit the shop, which has more than 240 different single malts from around the world.

There'll be food stalls from members of Produced in Norfolk too.

And all that has got to be worth raising a glass (or two) to…
