All go at Wells lifeboat station

Wells Lifeboat Station is gearing up for a busy month.

On Sunday there is an open day at the boathouse from 10.30am and 4pm. There will be the chance to meet the crews and see both boats.

Wells Lifeboat Guild is organising a beach barbecue from noon to 2pm. Refreshments will be available in the crewroom and the souvenir shop will be open.

On the following Sunday, August 2, the 49th annual lifeboat service is being held at 6pm and hundreds of people are expected to gather on the quayside.

Two lifeboats and a flotilla of anchored small boats will take part.

On Wednesdays from August 5 until August 26 there are lifeboat open evenings at 6.30pm. There will be the chance meet the crew and learn about what it is like to be a lifeboat volunteer.
