Impressionist Alistair McGowan will be showing off his talents as a classical pianist at the King's Lynn Festival.

Following the success of his recent piano album, Mr McGowan is bringing his brand-new show to St George's Guildhall on Monday, July 23, at 8pm.

He told Festival organisers he has created 'a whole new way of presenting classical music' – which may also feature England football captain Harry Kane.

'It is possibly the first classical piano recital to intersperse romantic music with a little comedy,' he added. 'I'd be delighted if, as well as fans of classical music, we were able to encourage people who may not know about classical piano to come and enjoy some of the incredible music written, and still being written, for the piano.

'As well as having the chance to share my own version of the stories of composers and the extraordinary music they write, I simply can't have a roomful of people and not have some fun with my current favourite impressions too.

'It should be the first show in which you can hear Harry Kane alongside the music of George Gershwin, and Jacob Rees Mogg between pieces by Grieg.

'I hope this show will introduce people to some wonderful romantic music and also demonstrate to anyone who harbours a secret ambition to take up music, that it really is never too late.'
