Visiting the King's Lynn Arts Centre in King Street for the first time on Friday September 12 is Jason Manford, a regular team captain on Channel 4's 8 Out of 10 Cats.

He started his comedy life as a pot collector at Manchester's longest-running comedy club The Buzz.

When one of the acts failed to turn up, he offered to help on stage and performed a very promising set in front of a demanding audience.

Then after only five weeks and four gigs he won the prestigious North-West Comedian of the Year Award, previously won by the likes of Caroline Aherne, Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay.

He then went on to win Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and was a finalist on Channel 4's 'So You Think You're Funny?' Despite his young age (he's only 23) he has been on the comedy circuit for five years and is a regular performer at the country's top comedy clubs including The Comedy Store and Jongleurs.
