1. Shirehall Courtroom Tour

2. Castle Writers

3. Armistice: Legacy of the Great War in Norfolk
Saturday October 20 2018 - Sunday January 6 2019
Exhibition showing the impact of the First World War on the county, alongside the stories of the people whose lives were transformed by it. Celebrating resiliance as well as commemorating loss, the rich displays show fine art and textiles alongside locally manufactured goods. Posters, photographs and interactive displays complement the diverse objects from around the county. A series of finely crafted artwoks by Paddy Hartley focus on the subject of memorialisation; called Papaver Rhoeas, these unique poppies will gradually change throughout the exhibition.

4. Dementia Friendly Coffee Morning
Thursday October 25, 10.30am
Join specially trained staff for a relaxed friendly get together for people living with memory loss, and their friends and family. Enjoy a short walk around the museum followed by refreshments. Booking recommended 01603 629127.

5. Norwich Science Festival

6. Apple Day
Sunday October 14, 10am - 5pm
Celebrate apples and all things autumnal. Bring your mystery apples to be identified and taste apple juice or scrumptious cider. Stroll around the orchard with traditional Norfolk varieties. See local craftsmen demonstrating their skills and buy fresh local meats, autumn fruits, preserves and cakes.

7. West Runton Mammoth Tour

8. The Praise of the Red Herring: Thomas Nashe in Great Yarmouth
Friday October 5, 11.30am - 12.30pm
The Elizabethan pamphleteer and playwright Thomas Nashe arrived in Great Yarmouth in late 1597, a fugitive from London after his stage comedy was judged to be 'seditious and slanderous'. The product of his stay here was his last and most idiosyncratic work, Nashe's Lenten Stuffe, inspired by gratitude for the shelter he received at Yarmouth. 9. Herring Day
Friday October 26, 11am - 4pm
It's our favourite day of the year, Herring Day! Celebrate our town's hertiage, meet the Fisher Girls as they gut and prepare their herring and equipment and venture on the wild side to learn about our coastline's marine biology. Get creative with family-friendly activities and don't forget to bring your pocket-money as we'll be hosting some fabulous local crafters in our first ever Craft Fair!

12. Scars of War - Lino Cutting and Printing Workshop
Saturday October 6, 10am - 2pm
Printing workshop, based on soldiers' graffiti from World War One, found on the library tower in King's Lynn. Part of a remembrance project between six heritage and educational organisations in King's Lynn, called Scars of War. Please bring a packed lunch and drinks. Booking essential 01553 774297.

13. War Memorial
Tuesday October 16, 6.30pm - 7.30pm
Luke Shackell, Trainee Archivist, discusses the creation of the monument in Tower Gardens, the project's troubled start and how the issues were overcome; along with the production of the Roll of Honour, detailing those lost in World War I. The museum is currently closed, but King's Lynn Borough Archives can be visited Tuesday - Friday 12.30 - 4.30pm or the first Saturday of each month 10am - 2pm.

14. Double Bumper History Day - Furry Familiars and Wicked Witches
