From fun fairs to fun with slime, there's lots going on in Norwich over the Easter period. Here's a look at ten top events you won't want to miss...

Easter Fun Fair, Chapelfield Gardens, Norwich, March 28-April 2

Norwich has long hosted an Easter fair and once again this year there is the chance to swing, slide and be whizzed around on the waltzer as the Showman's Guild take over Chapelfield Gardens. Plenty of thrills, plus Easter egg prizes. Great Yarmouth's annual Easter fair returns for four days with rides and stalls on the Market Place, Fullers Hill and on Brewery Plain.

The Jungle Book, Norwich Theatre Royal, April 10-14, 7pm, 2.30pm Mar 12/14, £23-£10

Colourful new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's family classic from the Children's Touring Partnership and the team behind recent productions of Goodnight Mister Tom and Michael Morpurgo's Running Wild. Mowgli is the the man cub raised by wolves in the jungle. With the help of his animal friends, including Bagheera the panther, Baloo the bear and Kaa the python, Mowgli outwits the cruel and powerful tiger, Shere Khan, and learns the law of the jungle. The musical adventure is adapted by the Olivier Award-winning Jessica Swale and features new songs and live music on stage created by Joe Stilgoe and is directed by Max Webster, who helmed The Lorax at the Old Vic. Ages 6+

Norfolk Spring Fling, Norfolk Showground, April 10, 9.30am-3.30pm, £9.50

This celebration of farming and the countryside is always a great family day out for all the family over the Easter holidays. Meet friendly Scarecrow Mr Mawkins on his farm and see the friendly animals, pigs, cows, lambs, goats and many more. Hands-on activities from crafting the natural landscape to trying your hand on a lambing simulator. Tractor rides all day and climb into a giant combine harvester to see what it would be like to drive one of these giant machines. New this year is the Emergency services zone. Meet your local police, learn CPR with the Air Ambulance and dress up as a member of the RNLI. Ticket price includes hog roast lunch!

A Little Princess, Open, Bank Plain, Norwich, April 5-7, 7.30pm, 2.30pm April 6-7, £15, £10 under-18s

Written by Tony-nominated composer/lyricist, Andrew Lippa and Brian Crawley, this family-friendly musical gets an East Anglian premiere by Echo Youth Theatre. Based on the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, it is the story of the power of a young girl's imagination to change the world around her. Separated from her father in Africa, young Sara Crewe is sent to boarding school in London. When things go badly for her, her imagination and story-telling help to transform a drab institution into a place of magic and mystery. This version expands the story beyond the confines of Victorian England to Africa and includes lively African music and dance and a unique score.

Three Billy Pigs, Norwich Puppet Theatre, April 7, 11am/2.30pm, £9, £9 children, £30 family

Once upon a time there were three little pigs and now it is time for them to leave home! They set off to build their dream houses in the green field on the other side of the river. But then these homes are put to the test by a misunderstood wolf that has a little bit of a problem. And who is the grumpy person who lives under the bridge? Charming puppet production with music from Noisy Oyster, which was formed by Nik Palmer, the son of Ray and Joan DaSilva, founders of the Norwich Puppet Theatre and the DaSilva Puppets, and Sarah Rowland-Barker. Ages 3+

Castle CSI, Norwich Castle Museum, March 29-April 13 (not Sunday), 10.30am-3.30pm, included in normal admission

Norwich Castle has become a crime scene and you are the investigator with a chance to explore crime and punishment from medieval to modern times. Follow the 'Crime Trail', feel the death mask bumps, sit in judgement with Judge Childers, and take a detour along the prisoners' secret tunnel while you visit the dungeons (additional charge applies). Activities vary daily.

Easter Children's Workshops, Norwich Puppet Theatre, March 29-April 13, 10.30am, £9.50 per workshop

Norwich Puppet Theatre hosts a series of children's workshops throughout the Easter holidays. It starts with Tings with Wings (March 29). Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a dragonfly or a unicorn? Then Mythical Creatures (April 4), Monsters (April 7), Fairies and Trolls (April 11), and Gnaughty Gnomes (april 13). AT the end of each you'll have a puppet to take home.

Circus Skills, Stage Two, Norwich Theatre Royal, April 4, 3.30pm/7.30pm, £6

Roll up, roll up for a day of circus fun. Circus Tots aimed at children aged 3-5 (10.30am) is a play workshop with games, basic manipulation such as hula hoops and scarf juggling, and partner acrobatics. Then contemporary circus company, Lost in Translation run Circus Play (1pm) for ages 6-9 years to learn skills from plate spinning, balancing, basic tumbling, handstands and group acrobatics. Circus Skills (1pm) for ages 2-16 give the chqance to master basic tumbling, mini trampolining, group acrobatics, juggling and hula hooping.

West End Experience, Open, Bank Plain, Norwich, April 9-13, 9.30am-4pm

The ultimate workshop for anyone who loves musical theatre. Each day of the five day course, a different show is studied, under the tuition of a professional from that show...to teach you the exact same choreography, scenes and harmonies that are being performed on the countries most famous stages. Then on April 13 (8pm) they will all take the stage to perform in a full two hour show. Ages 8-19.

Slime time! Intu Chapelfield, Norwich, April 12, 10am-4pm, free

Easter offers the chance for kids to doodle on a giant slime colouring wall, capture and share photos in a slime photo booth and even customise their own slime at Chapelfield, as the shopping centre welcome kids brand (and slime experts) Nickelodeon. The free event will also see children who have already registered online, be slimed within a specially created 'Slimeulator'. Fun, free, and a very messy experience!
