The Tin Forest

Based on the book by Helen Ward, illustrated by Wayne Anderson, The Tin Forest is about a lonely old man who lives in a dreary junkyard, full of other people's broken and unwanted rubbish. He dreams that one day his world will be full of life, colour and sound. His wish is about to come true. An uplifting, humorous and touching show, full of visual invention, puppetry and musical fun with mechanical birds, a wind-up circus and exotic animals of all shapes and sizes.

Rod Campbell's well known children's books with their simple, distinctive drawings and often repetitive text engage young children in learning to read. Here his best-selling lift the flap book is making its stage premiere. It is the story of a child who writes to the zoo asking them to send a pet prompting he search for the perfect animal. The stage unfolds with child-engaging puppets, music and lots of audience interaction.

James Campbell's Comedy 4 Kids

A stand-up comedy show for children aged over 6, their parents and anyone who likes comedy without the rude words by James Campbell, who also writes the hilarious Boyface books. James's show will find the hilariously funny things about everything, including pets, couscous, Spaniels, making your own yoghurt, bees, why we have hair and will answer questions such as: do sausage dogs eat sausages?

The Jungle Book

Following the success of Alice in Wonderland, Immersion Theatre return for a fourth year, with their brand new musical adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic. Mowgli and his friends Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther head off on a madcap adventure in the jungle as they meet and attempt to outwit a slithering snake, some cheeky monkeys and the fierce tiger, Shere Khan. It's an adaptation filled with catchy music, a laugh-out-loud script, audience interaction and the chance to meet the characters after the show.

These classic stories created by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, which became one of the most iconic television series of the 1970s, are playfully retold using puppets, original film, live music and a cast of silly Vikings in this new piece of theatre for families. Accompanied by the brave and mighty Thor Nogson and the great green bird Graculus, go North on a journey of adventure and discovery to battle the Fearsome Ice Dragon and the dastardly deeds of Noggin's wicked uncle, Nogbad the Bad!

The Foolhardy Circus troupe return with their circus skills and comedy acrobatics show. In the morning there is a workshop to have a go with traditional circus props (£5, ages 6+).
