Leading Norfolk amateur Jack Yule is now a member of Thetford - and he is playing in club competitions to ensure he is fully prepared for the new season.
As an England squad player, the 22-year-old will soon be switching his focus to national and international events but last week Thetford's February Midweek Stableford was his priority.
Yule began poorly, with three putts on the first green, but had eagles at the sixth and 13th as well as two birdies in a round of 69. It was the lowest score of the day but a plus three handicap meant he finished one point behind a trio of players with 37, 15-handicap Wayne Prigg taking top spot on countback from Steve Cobb (10) and Ian Ramsay (12).
Other scores: 36 Terry Stephenson (12); 34 Bob Fletcher (11); 33 Terry Blacktopp (6) and Graham Kemp (13); 32 Gary Woodhouse (12) and Paul Waters (10); 31 Robert Setchell (4), Ken Chatteris (11) and Neil Bain (25).
