Youth gets chance on Carter stage

This Sunday, it is the turn of youth to shine on the Carter Cup stage as the junior version of the competition gets underway.The tournament is for under-17 teams and is split into four groups, with the top two in each zone advancing to the quarter-finals.

Each team has a nickname and the games are played with coloured clothing and white balls and are 36 overs per side, going up to 42 overs from the quarter-final stage onwards.

Last year's winners Hales Herd begin the defence of their crown against Horsford Knights on Sunday.

The final will be played at Manor Park on Sunday, September 2.
