Top trainer William Haggas looks to kick off the new season at Great Yarmouth today in spectacular fashion.

Newmarket-based Haggas has a leading chance in each of the first four races of the season on the East coast, in what is a hugely competitive eight-race fixture.

Action begins at 1.50pm with eight fillies sprinting over the minimum five furlongs in which Haggas sends out debutant Carrie's Vision, an Oasis Dream two-year-old, ridden by James Doyle.

Main rival could be George Scott's debutant Sepoy filly Willow Brook under champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa while Luchador, under Oisin Murphy for Archie Watson, has the benefit of a previous run when fourth of 10 at Kempton a fortnight ago.

The novice stakes over a mile has been split into two divisions, at 2.25pm and 2.55pm. Haggas and Doyle team up with debutant Magical Sight, a Sea the Stars colt at 2.25pm, and 30 minutes later have debutant Cohen in the second division, taking on Frankie Dettori on the John Gosden trained Without Parole. That colt by Frankel won on debut at Newcastle in December.

The 3.25pm 10-furlong handicap sees Haggas and Doyle team up again with Nathaniel gelding Cristal Spirit in the 14-runner contest in which De Sousa on Ed Dunlop's Baasha could be a key rival.

Feature race at 4pm is the Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park of Lowestoft Handicap, with the field headed by Doyle's mount Mordin, trained by Simon Crisford.

A winner at Kempton earlier this month and at Lingfield in December, Mordin goes for a hat-trick as does main rival Crimson Rosette, under Steve Donoghue for trainer Charlie Fellowes, that filly having won at Windsor and Lingfield on her last two outings.

One of the course's most popular jockeys, three-pound claimer Shelley Birkett, partners Oud Metha Bridge, trained by her mother Julia Feilden in the 4.30pm mile handicap, the gelding twice second at Kempton after winning at that track in February.

French jockey Gerard Mosse gets the leg up on Global Excel for trainer Ed Walker in the 5.05pm six-furlong handicap, taking on favourite Kalagia, while 13 go in the 5.40pm finale, a five-furlong sprint.

Selections: 1.50pm Carrie's Vision; 2.25pm Tawheed; 2.55pm Without Parole; 3.25pm Finisher; 4pm Mordin; 4.30pm Luna Magic; 5.05pm Kalagia; 5.40pm Who Told Jo Jo.
