Wymondham completed an impressive double over Thetford to close the gap on the league leaders to just six points.

The home side started strongly and were soon 5-0 up after David Blake finished off a forwards' try.

Tom Stace then picked up a nasty arm injury which will rule him out for the rest of the season but Wymondham stayed on the front foot and Blake touched down again from a push-over scrum to double the advantage.

The home side pushed the score out to 15-0 when Will Shaw went over but Thetford were back in it at the break after scoring a converted try and crossed again to make it 15-12. But the home nerves were eased when Chris Collins-Reed produced a superb interception to score the bonus point try, converted by Charlie Duffin.

A converted push-over try from Thetford made it interesting again but a brilliant individual score from Tom Poole, which went uncoverted, settled the issue.
