Wymondham look set to get back under way on Saturday when they host fellow strugglers Mersea Island in London 3 North East.

It is also the final home game of the year and this means the traditional Christmas lunch at Tuttles Lane ahead of the game.

The two teams last met in 2006/07 when Mersea Island won the Eastern Counties One title, losing just once in 18 games. Significantly that single loss was to Wymondham at Tuttles Lane on November 11 when the Red and Blacks recorded a 20-7 victory.

A similar result tomorrow would be more than satisfactory and hopefully move Wymondham off the foot of the table. Indeed a five-pointer could launch Wymondham out of the relegation zone should other results go in the Red and Blacks' favour.

Wymondham second XV are also scheduled for a home fixture against Holt in the Merit Table but with the second team pitch also the training pitch this fixture will be subject to a late inspection. Wymondham third XV, also in Merit table action, travel to Swaffham.

Kick-off for all fixtures is 2.15pm.
