Norwich Cup quarter-final action saw Connaught A achieve a 14-10 win at Wymondham.

Connaught A opened with four straight wins to lead 8-0 on points before the home side scored two wins to cut the deficit to 8-4 at the interval.

The remaining three sessions were all shared despite Wymondham's best efforts to close the gap and Connaught held on to gain a semi-final place. Chris Musk, Lee Fallows and Sylvia Parsons were again in brilliant form for Connaught who will play Sprowston in the semi-finals.

Forncett claimed a semi-final place on shots when their home tie against Kirby Bedon finished level at 12-12. Kirby Bedon started well with a surprise combination of Jackie Tunmore, Leonora Chilman and Selwyn Goldsmith winning 6-5 win while Peter Johnson, Teresa Goldsmith and Gerald Chilvers won 5-4. Forncett immediately hit back with Rebecca Humphreys, Michael Humphreys and Peter Lock winning 5-3 and Mary Boulter, Linda Preece and Merv Boulter winning 6-4 to level the score at 4-4. The remaining four sessions were all shared but when Kirby skip Gerald Chilvers failed to draw shot with the last wood of the game Forncett were left celebrating a semi-final place for the first time in years where they now play Coltishall. Kirby Bedon reached the Norfolk County Cup semi-finals after winning on shots at Watlington where the teams finished level at 4-4 on points. Kirby's Phil Watson triple opened with a 12-8 win against June Bush but Keith Ablett, Peter Dagnall and M Howard ensured the tie was still level on points at the interval after beating Alistair Hunter's triple 14-11. Pat Faint, Terry Foster and Michael Bush produced another Watlington win after the break beating Gerald Chilvers' triple 13-11 but Kirby's Peter Johnson, Shirley Brown and Joe Brown avoided an upset as they cruised to a 20-5 win against Bob Scully's triple. The unbeaten Breckland League run of Connaught A finally came to an end at Wymondham. In the first half Wymondham's Brian Saunders beat Bill Adcock's triple 16-12 but Connaught A kept on level terms courtesy of a 20-13 win for Sylvia Parsons against Debbie Phillips. After the break Mark Linsdell won by 19-9 against Ollie Allen's triple to put Wymondham in the driving seat and Chris Mann added a 16-14 win against Sheila Bragg to complete an 8-2 home win. Defending Bure League champions Kirby Bedon continue to struggle and dropped more points at home to Woodbastwick. The visitors completed a league double over Kirby with an impressive 6-4 win with Tony Wright's triple winning 17-11 and Trevor Hallett winning 14-7. Horsford BC earned their first win of the season in the Bure after eight straight defeats beating Hevingham 8-2.
