A lightning Rhys Logan inspired Dereham to a 2-0 win at Trafford Park – to avenge last season's Senior Cup final defeat.

The first chance of the game arrived five minutes into the game when Logan used his skill to beat Danny Rust but his shot was straight at the keeper.

After a few poor shots from the visitors, Wroxham got into the game, Captain David Hinton's dribble from his own half saw a shot on the edge of the penalty area blasted over.

Ten minutes later Elliot Pride's goal-kick for Wroxham was met by the head of Danny Beaumont, who headed down for Nathan stone on the right-hand side but he couldn't keep his shot on target.

On the 40th minute, a through ball behind the Wroxham defence from Luke Tuttle was met by Ryan Crisp who chipped over Pride and into the back of the net to give Dereham the lead.

The start of the second half was as lively as the first, Jamie Forshaw's free-kick just after the restart brilliantly saved by Will Viner in the Dereham goal.

Then in the 52nd minute Pride brought Crisp down in the box, which saw a penalty given and a yellow card for the goalkeeper. Tuttle stepped up and placed the ball in the bottom right corner, sending Pride the wrong way to double Dereham's lead.

The Yachtsmen nearly responded instantly, a mesmerizing weaving run from Nathan Stone down the left saw a shot crisply struck but brilliantly saved, the ball then fell to Forshaw on the edge of the box, before his shot smashed against the inside of the post and was cleared.

A late chance from Stone for Wroxham, again weaving in between two defenders, before smashing against the bar.

Overall, Wroxham couldn't cope with the speed of the Magpies wingers, but were unfortunate as they hit the bar three times in the game.
