Mike Wrigley had an eventful time in the Stars of the 70s race before taking victory at Snetterton on Sunday.

The Escort Mk1 racer fluffed the start, after selecting the wrong gear, and then having fought back to second place had a high speed spin at the Esses on dropped oil.

Resuming his chase of the leading Cologne Capri paid off as a gear selection problem hindered Vince Woodman, who also lost second place at the final corner to John Young's BMW CSL.

North Walsham's Mike Bell was making good progress until he retired his Escort Mk1 at one-third distance.

The indecently quick Austin A40 of Mark Daniell tried to unseat the Jaguar Mk1 of Nigel Webb in the first Oldies but Goldies race only to be out powered on the long Snetterton straights.

A broken half shaft curtailed Daniell's second race but only after he had slipped past the Jaguar going into the Russell Chicane.

Harry Wyndham won the Top Hat race which saw actor Rowan Atkinson run inside the top six until his Ford Falcon retired just after he handed over to Mark Gibbon.
