West failed to build on their fine victory over the league leaders last weekend by losing in Suffolk.
Nigel Richardson's men slipped to only their second defeat of 2013 after taking a slightly under-strength side to Woodbridge.
Tries from Jake Richardson and Kyle Hind, plus a penalty and conversion from Ollie Denton, failed to keep West's fine form going.
The North Wootton club's boss said: 'We took two new younger players with us who did really well. Team selection was hard as it was a rearranged fixture and some players had made plans.
'We lost to a very physical organised side but the referee's decisions, and inexperienced players making wrong plays at the wrong time, didn't help.'
