Wisbech had to settle for a point at title rivals Newport Pagnell Town in an entertaining game.

The Fenmen were missing three players due to injury and unavailability so could name only two substitutes, one of whom was recent signing Connor Pilbeam who was joining up with his new team-mates for the first time. Wisbech nearly took the lead in the first minute, but Alex Beck just failed to connect with Michael Frew's low cross.

They didn't have to wait too long go ahead as Dan Bendon latched onto Frew's flick-on from Billy Smith's corner to score from close range.

The home side drew level after 22 minutes through Greg Ling and had chances to go into the break ahead but didn't convert them.

Pagnell went ahead in the 82nd minute, top scorer Fazel Koriya knocking in the rebound after Paul Bastock had saved Josh Winters' initial shot. But the lead was short-lived as a Smith corner was forced home by Beck for his 30th of the season, ensuring Wisbech remain second.
