Wisbech Town dished out a huge warning to their rivals as they swept to a stunning Boxing Day win.

It was third against second as Wisbech entertained Holbeach – and it was the hosts who came out on top, winning 4-0.

It means the two sides swap places, with Town now setting their sights on leaders Newport Pagnell, who have a six-point lead from one game more – and the two sides clashing in the fens at the end of January.

Goals by Alex Beck and Jon Fairweather put Wisbech in control against Holbeach, with Michael Frew bagging a second-half brace.

Since Gary Setchell's arrival as manager in September, Wisbech's form has been extraordinary – they have lost just once under his stewardship – and it has come with goals. Their tally for December is now 17 in four league games and their season's total of 69 from 24 games is the best in the league.

Next up for Wisbech is a home clash with Cogenhoe on Saturday.
