Wisbech will be hoping fortress Harecroft Road helps them progress in the Senior Vase tomorrow.

The London North-East Division Three outfit have been in scintillating form at home this season winning all four of their matches.

A fifth triumph over Sudbury would not only maintain their fine 100pc record but seal a place in the third round, something manager Cliff Humphreys believes they are more than capable of achieving.

The Wisbech boss said: 'We will be looking to be at top strength and hopefully we can select a team from a full squad.

'We played some scintillating rugby at times on Saturday and we're quietly confident against Sudbury if the team can put together our A-game.

'If we play our fast and explosive brand of rugby, concentrate for the full 80 minutes and stop giving away penalties at the breakdown I think we could storm the game. Hopefully a partisan crowd will turn up to support us as well.'

A 25-19 triumph over Canvey Island at the weekend pushed promoted Wisbech up to fifth in the table. They sit five places above Sudbury, who lost 23-21 to Beccles, and look set to challenge for the title - if they can improve their away form.

Wisbech's only victory in four matches on the road this season came in the last round of the Vase at East London. However, Humphreys knows their away-day blues could soon develop at home if they keep giving away needless penalties.

He said: 'Old habits die hard as our penalty tally for technical infringements did cost us possession and at times put us on the back foot at the weekend.

'We allowed Canvey to get back into the game on a number of occasions and we must make sure we don't do that at the weekend.

'A good cup run is extremely important to raise the profile of the club. It will help us improve since we will get to challenge ourselves against sides outside of the Eastern counties and if we go all the way we get to play at Twickenham.'

Centre Shane Vickers is a slight injury doubt for Wisbech after tweaking his hamstring during the Canvey victory.
