The first round of the County Cup competitions – with many Norwich Sunday League teams receiving byes – competed with a healthy league program for top billing.

In the Senior Cup, The Middle Green set off on the trail to Carrow Road with a narrow 3-2 (Jonathon Bailey, Sam Brookes, Dom Doggett) win at Norman Wanderers, whilst Horsford FC won by the same score at Sprowston Wanderers, with Yip Chong, Callum Cooper and Ashley Dearing scoring.

Riverside Rovers comfortably progressed, scoring seven against Windmill Wanderers. There was a great result for Barracks FC who went through to the next round after beating Yarmouth League side Gorleston Rangers 5-4 on penalties after the game ended in a 3-3 draw.

The Junior Cup, which includes teams from the Sunday League's second, third and fourth divisions, produced no real surprises.

FC Viking won 3-1 (Luke Stone 2, Josh Edge) at Cringleford, DCS Rapid hit nine against Eaton Park Corinthians and Hempnall went through after a 4-1 win over Cellar House.

There was a double-figure haul for AFC Norwich against Felthorpe and victory also for Cherry Tree FC as they won 3-1 at Long Stratton.

Moose Park Rangers are also through to the next round as they scored five without reply at home to Bunwell AFC.

In league matters, Trimingham Pilgrims lead the way after a narrow 3-2 home win over Poringland Wanderers, whilst Acle Rangers got into their stride, winning 7-2 at Phoenix FC. Schoolhouse also made their intentions for this season clear, with Brendan Burke finding the net five times as they hit a round dozen in their defeat of Farmhouse.

Woolpack are setting the early pace in Division One. Their 5-1 win at Mad Moose moves them three points clear of Aslacton who were beaten 5-2 at Mischief FC for whom Theo Chamberlin, Luca Elia, Oliver Hutt and Oliver Johnson scored. Drayton Dazzlers were 3-0 winners over Vale Longo and Brooke Reserves won by the same score line away to Hethersett Athletic.

MC Rovers, early leaders in Division Two, took a point as they shared eight goals at Bungay Town.

Silver Fox hit a dozen against Hethersett Ath Res whilst Dynamo FC grabbed their first three points, beating East Tuddenham 3-1.

ewsman Celtic and Acle Rangers also have a point on the board as they played out a 1-1 draw.

Watton United lead they way in Division Three with maximum points as they won 7-1 at home to Nelsons Athletic. Eaton are also on nine points after winning by the odd goal in five at FC Viking for whom Simon House and Paul Duarte scored. Easton scored 11 when beating Rackheath Rangers, whilst Aylsham beat Woodton United 5-2. There was a double for Chris Bedford and goals for Steve Charles, Matt Herring and Jack Skipper as AG Athletic overcame Sporting Iceni 5-2.

In Division Four, leaders Salhouse Rovers were held to a 3-3 draw by a young Yelverton side and Holt United are second after beating Mulbarton Wanderers 5-1. Hellesdon gained their second three points of the season as a single Harry Brookes goal was enough to defeat Old Catton.
