Norwich City full-back Rhoys Wiggins has refused to rule out the possibility of a permanent move to Bournemouth next season after setting his sights on a memorable end to the Cherries' current campaign.

The on-loan defender was given the green light to remain with his adopted club when the Football League relaxed Bournemouth's transfer embargo.

Wiggins, who has made just three first team appearances for City and has already spent two months with the League Two club, will see his deal expire after Eddie Howe's team play their penultimate game of the season against Port Vale.

But an appearance against Vale might not be his last for the Cherries - after the defender hinted he might welcome a return next term.

While he has a further season to run on his City contract, he is keen to play regular football, and he sees Dean Court as a possible destination should he make a summer move.

When asked about the chances of a switch next season, Wiggins told the Daily Echo: 'I've always said I enjoy it here and enjoy the coaching I get from Eddie and Jason (Tindall).

'It is definitely on the list of plans, depending on Norwich City as well, because I have another year on my contract there. I want to get to the point where I'm playing every week with a good team and Bournemouth is a perfect place for that.

'It was on my list of things that might have happened if the transfer embargo got lifted last summer. I spoke to Eddie quite a few times and I was thinking of coming down, but Norwich City came in.

'Hopefully, if Eddie wants me at the end of this season, maybe it will happen. I would have to speak to Norwich City in the summer and see what their plans are for me. I wouldn't like to say it is definitely going to happen because a lot can happen. But I will keep my options open and I wouldn't ever rule it out.

'Both last year and this year I have got on really well with the players. We have a great team spirit and it has made it easier to settle down. When you're winning it's 10 times better.'

The talented left-back, 22, is hoping to help lift the high-flying Cherries into League One before his latest spell ends: 'Before I leave, I'd like to be there to join the celebrations and get promoted,' admitted Wiggins, pictured.
