Cromer Town boss Chris Wigger is urging his players to keep their Anglian Combination Premier Division title hopes in their own hands by ending Blofield United's challenge today.

A victory for reigning champions Cromer over third-placed Blofield will see Wigger's side return to the top of the table while finishing their opponents' title challenge.

Second-placed Cromer, one point behind table-topping Acle United, must win their game in hand this afternoon to go into their final match next week in pole position.

Only a victory will keep Blofield's slim championship hopes alive with them sitting five points off the league's summit, but Wigger insists his players must simply focus on picking up three points and controlling their own destiny.

Wigger said: 'I've watched Blofield, they know what we do, so the two teams will be pretty evenly matched. It'll be a really good game to watch and should be entertaining too.

'Their (Blofield's) 11-0 win over Hempnall put them right back in the mix because it also really changed their goal difference. If I was their manager, I'd be telling them to go all out to win it.

'We can push Blofield out of the title race today but my main concern is getting three points, leapfrogging Acle, and being on top with one game to go. It's the best place to be.

'We've been in positions of pressure before and I know the lads will be very prepared because they've never let me down before. Acle play their final game before us and we want to put the pressure back on them. If we don't get three points we're effectively putting it in their hands.'

Due to the recent bad weather Cabbell Park is waterlogged so the game has been moved to Holt United's ground. Kick-off remains at 2.30pm.

Wigger will have a full squad to chose from, unless Paul Bradshaw's cricket side play, in which case he will opt to don his whites for the afternoon instead.

Acle, looking to lift the title for the first time in their 120-year history, travel to St Andrews on Tuesday (6.45pm) in their final game of the season. Cromer finish their campaign with a home clash against Loddon United on Thursday (7.30pm).

Blofield host Norwich St Johns on the same night in their last fixture of an exciting season that has seen the title race come down to the wire (6.45pm).

Acle's co-manager Martyn Sinclair said: 'We will do our utmost to win on Tuesday and if we do not many teams get to 70 points and don't win the league. But at the end of the day we will end up where we deserve.

'I would still put Cromer as favourites but we have got a chance. Whatever happens we will have had a cracking season.'
