Terrington's hopes of toppling high-flying Bircham in the West Norfolk League were ruined by the wet weather on Saturday.

In a match reduced to 40 overs, Will Pillinger scored 54 and Robbie Preston 47 as Bircham reached 157-6, with Nick Osborne taking three for 48. Terrington were well placed on 99-2 with an unbeaten partnership of 69 between Shezad Ali (26) and Hammad Ali (45) when rain brought the match to a premature end.

In Division Two, only one match went ahead, with a reduced 40-over game between Sandringham A and Hospital.

Hospital lost both openers cheaply before Owen Chandler stabilised the innings with a resolute 32. Sandringham A were bowling well and had restricted Hospital to 104 when the sixth wicket fell in the 33rd over.

By the end of the 40th over, 77 runs had been added with no further loss of wickets with man of the match Harisha Sreekantaiah smashing an unbeaten 85 in a total of 181 for six. Adi Nicol was the pick of the bowlers with 3-27.

Sandringham A reached 139-2 with five overs remaining, and with the match very much still there to win for either side. James Buhlemann (28) and Adam Burch (67) both fell to Mahesh Sannakki, who took 3-27 and turned the match in Hospital's favour. Sandringham A's innings closed on 163-3 to lose by 18 runs.

There were two matches possible in Division Three. Thornham, batting first, at Beeston A, scored 154 for seven in a match reduced to 32 overs, with Stephen Lucas top scoring with 42. Beeston A were bowled out for 72, which included a 43-run sixth-wicket partnership between Ian Sayer (28) and M Symonds (27). Kevin Williamson took 5-20 and Will Dodds 3-4 to see Thornham to victory by 82 runs for an 18-point lead at the top.

Fakenham III were in a bit of trouble at 52-5 against Denver A before Bruce Bushell hit 58 not out to post a total of 140-8 in a match reduced to 40 overs. Denver A were bowled out for 77, with Drue Williamson and Emily Woodhouse both taking 3-18. That 63-run victory moved Fakenham III up one place to second.
