West Norfolk League round-up: Denver duo shine during T20 triumph

An opening stand of 140 between Ryan Twiddy (64) and Lewis Jeavons (63) put Snettisham in a decent position during their West Norfolk League Division One Cup clash, writes Kevin Fisher.

Damien Twiddy (2-14), Kristian Heffer (2-12) and Gary Raines (2-18) helped restrict Heacham to 88-8 in their 20 overs. Elsewhere in Group A, James Banham (30), Aaron Nicol (33) and Ross Gurbutt (36) helped Sandringham reach 143-4. Paul Hudson top scored with 46 but James Banham (2-32) helped restrict Castle Rising to 129-8 – which included three run outs.

In Group B, Ben Champion scored 27 in Hillington's 110-7 with James Peach taking 3-29 during their Twenty20 encounter. An unbeaten 67 from Paul Morton and 35 not out from Dan Cornwell saw Denver cruise to victory by nine wickets. Ady Seymour scored 26 in Northwold's 51 all out with David Spencer taking 3-11 and Roy Bland 2-7. David English took 3-17 and Seymour 2-15 but Hockwold held on to win by four wickets.

In the Division Two Cup Group A Nick Whales hit 83no and Daniel Cross 53 as Castle Acre reached 158-4. David Grady hit 69 and Dean Tooley 26 as Downham B reached 117-8 to lose by 41 runs with Nick Whales picking up 3-7, Luke Fryett 2-19 and Michael Edwards 2-32.

David Cornwall scored 28 in Narborough A's 100-5 with Oscar Cambell taking 2-14. An unbeaten 47 from Paul Matthews saw Fakenham III (97-5) get within four runs of victory with Ben King taking 2-20. Gooderstone reached 116-7 with Stuart Merritt scoring 23 and Adi Nicol taking 4-20 and Giresh Dachawar 2-43. Dave Lambourne (44) top scored but couldn't see Sandringham A home as they reached 92-6 with Samuel Morgan taking 2-11.

In the Division Three Cup Group A Paul Brown scored 46 and Dominic Howell 38 as Bircham A reached 136-5 with Michael Hazel taking 3-28. Jamie White scored 58 and Daniel Coggin 32 with Joe Dean taking 3-18 as Dersingham A won off the last ball. Gavin Buffham scored 27 in Gayton's total of 120 all out with Ben Watts taking 3-29. Despite an unbeaten 30 from Daniel Clifton, Denver A could only reach 86-7 with Jamie Marsh taking 3-25.

In Group B Stuart Royle (32) and Anish Thomas (31) helped Castle Rising A reach 140-7 with David Lane taking 2-38. Nathan Cross scored 28 as Gooderstone A were bowled for 98 with Mark Emden taking 4-25, Chris Manning 2-15 and Anish Thomas 2-4 as well as three catches. Connor Grief hit 52no as Snettisham A reached 125-5 with Ryan Bradbury taking 2-28 and John Stewart 2-26. Paul Ingram picked up 4-18, Daniel Cook 2-18 and Danny Suckling 2-41 as Swaffham A were bowled out for 95.
