West Norfolk League: Burton and Bland take seven wickets each

On another rain-affected weekend, only six out of 17 scheduled matches saw any play. The Division One match at Sandringham was delayed for 90 minutes to allow the pitch to dry and reduced to 30 overs per side.

Hospital made a positive start but once opening bowler Mark Shephard (4-25), dismissed the first top-order batsmen, they struggled to build any further partnerships and were all out for 55 in the 26th over.

Captain for the day James Banham scored 26no as Sandringham won by eight wickets in the 16th over. AMBiT Projects MoM for Hospital was Shinoj Philip.

Two matches were possible in Division Two with Hockwold's Roy Bland taking 7-7 as Gooderstone were dismissed for just 24 in 18 overs. Hockwold completed the seven-wicket victory in the sixth over.

Batting first, Northwold scored 99 all out. Scott Adams (6-17) and David English (4-15) secured a 41 run victory as Swaffham A could only manage 58 in reply.

In a Division Three match reduced to 40 overs per side, Heacham's Anthony Sadler scored an unbeaten 80 in a total of 176. Adie Greef took 4-28 for Beeston. Duncan Rix took 5-18 as Beeston's last wicket fell in the 22nd over for 39 to give Heacham victory by 137 runs.

Long Sutton A's Gary Burton took 7-13 as Denver A were dismissed for 59 in 34 overs. Sutton completed a seven-wicket victory in the 16th over.
