Town skipper Jack Defty scored a goal in each half as King's Lynn notched up a century of league goals this season in a 2-0 away win at Wellingborough in the United Counties League.

Robbie Harris had an early chance but a bad bounce defeated him. Defty looked to be on his way to opening the scoring after 19 minutes but was fouled on the edge of the area. The defender was only booked.

Alex Street pulled off two good saves before Defty brought up Lynn's league century when Steve Spriggs set him up.

Defty sent a header inches wide early in the second half but grabbed his 46th goal in all competitions this season with a far-post header to seal victory after 64 minutes.

Town's title rivals St Neots beat Holbeach 4-2 at home to remain six points clear but Lynn have a game in hand and host the long time leaders at The Walks next month.
