Catfield became the first side for over 40 years to retain the Norfolk Junior Cup when they recorded an impressive victory at Carrow Road last night.
Chad Pillar scored a hat-trick in an incident-packed first half and also had a penalty saved as the Cats completed a hat-trick of trophies after winning the Great Yarmouth and District League and two other cup competitions.
Pillar took just five minutes to make his mark by heading home and although William Goulding equalised for Scole Pillar soon restored his side's advantage.
Catfield moved 3-1 ahead on the 32nd minute when Pillar completed his hat-trick but the Anglian Combination Division Two champions weren't finished and made it 3-2 six minutes when Sonny Sloggett netted. Ben Buckmaster then produced a fine penalty save to deny Pillar his fourth goal and ensure his side were still well in it at the break, despite Adam Solley's dismissal.
The second half was less eventful but there were chances at both ends, and a red card for Sloggett, before Matty Anderson made it 4-2 on 81 minutes.
