Dom Dwyer has emulated superstar David Beckham by winning the MLS Cup for Sporting Kansas City.
Dwyer, raised in King's Lynn, was in the side that beat Real Salt Lake 7-6 in a penalty shootout – after the match had ended 1-1.
It was Sporting Kansas City's first triumph in the post-season championship since the then-Wizards won it in 2000.
With the celebrations still going on, Dwyer took to Twitter to air his feelings, writing: 'Before I get stupid on here, thank you to everyone who has supported and believed in me throughout this year!! What a year!!! #Winner.'
Dwyer played for Norwich City as a teenager and made a handful of appearances for King's Lynn before moving out to America on a scholarship.

He was picked by Kansas in the MLS Draft of 2012, but spent the early part of this year in USL PRO, the third tier of football in the States, on loan to Orlando City SC. A haul of 15 goals in 13 games helped Orlando to their championship but after his recall he scored in Sporting Kansas City's second leg victory over Houston which secured a place in Saturday's final when victory clinched a rare personal double success in the States, something fellow MLS Cup winner Beckham didn't achieve with LA Galaxy.
