There were two sailing events on Oulton Broad last weekend, with a Travellers race for Lasers and the traditional start of season race for the Lady Mayhew Trophy on Sunday.

James Large won three of the four Laser races to give him a comfortable overall win from Alan Cone who won the second race, but could do no better than third in the others with Simon Marfleet picking up third.

The Lady Mayhew Trophy is a General Allcomers event, with a mixture of dinghies, keel boats and a cruiser.

Gary Fryer led in his RS300, but could not get far enough in front to save his handicap. Behind him was a mixture of Lasers, Phantoms and the ultimate winner, Veronica Falat who finished eighth in her Streaker but moved up to first, with Julian and Bethany Hood second in their National 12 and Alan Cone third in his Laser.
