The second match of this summer’s NW Brown Norfolk Twenty20 competition produced runs galore, with Vauxhall Mallards coming out on top.

Mallards made an impressive 202-6 in their 20 overs, with overseas player Nick Smit leading the way with 66 and Harry Barker (37) and Hudson de Lucchi (36) also making useful contributions.

Joe Wright was the most successful bowler for opponents Great Witchingham, taking 3-37.

The Witches also scored freely but couldn’t match their opponents’ rate of over 10 an over as they finished on 156-8 to lose by 46 runs.

Mike Jones top scored with 75 while the evergreen Paul Bradshaw took 3-29.

The competition gathers pace this week with two more games at Manor Park (6pm, free admission). Holders Swardeston take on Brooke, who beat Norwich by nine wickets in last week’s opening fixture, on Wednesday while Horsford play their first game against Great Witchingham on Thursday.
