Wisbech booked their place in the third round of the Senior Vase after a hard-fought 17-7 home victory over Sudbury.
With the conditions making it tough going for both sides Wisbech led 3-0 at the break courtesy of a penalty from Mark Laws. The tries arrived in the second half with the hosts scoring two of them through Will Pettit and Jon Turner, both of which were converted by Laws.
• Wymondham were handed a place in the third round of the Junior Vase when scheduled opponents Ely called off.
• In the Eastern Counties under-17 competition Diss beat Sudbury 27-10. They entertain Ipswich in the next round on December 2.
