A fresh North Westerly blew on the River Waveney as Beccles ASC sailors battled on in the series D races.

Richard Deller and Saskia Baylis in Enterprise Cuddles along with Richard Lewis and Bella Swann in Enterprise Tornado led the fleet from the start of the first race. But a loss of control after a gybe at the bridge left Tornado submerged under a moored cruiser and Deller returned to number two allowing Mark Langston in his Streaker to take honours on handicap.

Robert Gorbould and Graham Alden in Norfolk Chuph nudged Deller down to third. Race two proved fruitful for Rory Kelsey and Georgie Roll in Norfolk Tankard, although fifth over the water, finished a minute ahead of rival Harry Shipley on handicap.

Very little separated the Toppers of Rowan Curtis and Elena Edwards with a win each this week. Some tactical sailing from both juniors means that half way through the series only two points are between first and second places.

George Curtis, in his Optimist Bittern, made light work of another two wins this week to take the Cinnabar Trophy overall honours with 12 wins out of 12. Jade Lindquist in a club Oppie kept the pressure on James How in the final race only for How to retake the lead just up to the line.
