Lowestoft Town boss Dale Brooks insists his side haven't got a mental problem at home despite seeing his side start the year with another defeat at the Amber Dew Events Stadium.
The Trawlerboys have lost their last two at home in disappointing fashion as they followed up defeat to Harlow with a 2-1 reverse against Brightlingsea. The Blues at least took four points away from home over the festive period but manager Dale Brooks is determined to start showing some winning form in front of their own fans.
'It's a shame because I would have loved to have got a home win,' said Brooks. 'We really want to bring the fans back to the Amber Dew Stadium and we need to start winning to do that.
'I don't think there's any mental problem at home - it's just the way it has gone.
'Apart from that Harlow game at home I think we have always put a real shift in and if we keep doing that then our luck will turn.
'Against Brightlingsea we competed and their goal just came from an individual mistake from one of our most reliable players this season in Travis (Cole).'
Lowestoft travel to Tonbridge Angels this afternoon with Brooks hoping the availability issues that undermined his side's efforts on New Year's Day are in the past.
'This Saturday I've got the opposite problem (with availability), I'm going to have to tell a couple of players that they don't need to get changed,' added Brooks. 'It's going to be a nice selection headache for me - something I've not had too much of so far.
'If everyone was fit and available then we probably wouldn't need to tap into the loan market but it doesn't really work like that.
'Against Brightlingsea things just conspired against us and we didn't have the availability we needed.'
Dean Leacock and Ollie Humphries are the only absentees today and Brooks revealed he is not actively looking to bring anyone in as it stands.
'It's a case of trying to get those players that are contracted to the club out on the pitch,' he added. 'That's the problem we've had. For us to be able to strengthen the squad then someone would have to leave. There's still a lot of games to play and we need to use what we have.'
