Gorleston stretched their unbeaten run to 16 league games and ensured that runaway leaders Mildenhall can't take their foot off the pedal just yet.

The Greens came from a goal down to beat Hadleigh United 4-1 to remain 20 points behind top spot – but with five games in hand.

Ricci Butler's side have won 12 of those games – and have a mouth-watering derby trip to Great Yarmouth Town on Boxing Day to come.

Gorleston got off to the worst possible start on Saturday, conceding after just three minutes.

But they were level on 25 minutes when George Yusuff headed home. Yussuf was involved again as Gorleston went into the break 2-1 up – his tackle on the right touchline began the attack which ended with Mitch McKay slotting a low cross into the bottom corner.

Gorleston extended their lead six minutes into the second half through Joel Watts and it was all over with eight minutes remaining when a low Keegan Middleton cross found Kyle Baker arriving first at the near post and he knocked it in.

The game was preceded by a minute's applause for supporter John Bailey, who passed away at the previous home game. His family were present, laying flowers by the side of the pitch.

Great Yarmouth Town ended their match at Saffron Walden with 10 men after Mitch Forbes was dismissed – but the hosts ran out 1-0 winners with only eight men on the pitch.

There was a welcome win for Swaffham, who beat visiting Brantham Athletic 3-1 with two goals from Alex Vincent and one from the experienced Jack Defty.

Kirkley & Pakefield went down 2-1 at home to Felixstowe & Walton United. The visitors scored twice in the second half, and although Jordan Haverson pulled a goal back with five minutes remaining the Royals went down to their first defeat in 11 games.

In Division One, Diss Town hit the goal trail with a 7-1 home drubbing of Leiston, Charlie Webb leading the way with a hat-trick.

A young Dereham Reserves side lost 2-1 at home to local rivals King's Lynn Reserves, while Downham Town drew 3-3 at Haverhill Borough.
