Ricci Butler has told his Gorleston team to aim for new milestones in 2017.

The Greens ended the year unbeaten this season in the Premier Division, but Butler is thinking of nothing more than the next game – and a tough month ahead.

Emerald Park hosts arguably the match of the day today, when third-placed Gorleston entertain Felixstowe & Walton United, who are just one point behind.

Then there's an FA Vase clash at home to Coleshill Town next Saturday followed by league games against fifth-placed Newmarket, Ipswich Wanderers (10th), second-placed Stanway and struggling Swaffham Town. The only home league game this month after today is against Wanderers.

'I made changes in the summer because that was the next stage at the time,' said Butler. 'Now we are at another stage. We have pushed on and we are unbeaten so we have ourselves a little milestone, but the boys know that milestones are nice but it is about pushing those and we go to the next one.'

Gorleston are 20 points behind runaway leaders Mildenhall Town, but they have five games in hand. Mildenhall will be looking for their 18th consecutive league win at unpredictable Ipswich Wanderers.

There are plenty of rivals for the big game status – Thetford entertain Fakenham while Great Yarmouth Town have another derby, this time at Kirkley & Pakefield, having lost at home to Gorleston on Boxing Day – a match watched by more than 800 fans.

In the First Division, Diss Town are at home to Debenham LC and will be looking to maintain a stunning scoring run of late – the Tangerines have scored 19 goals in their last four league games.

March Town United are at home to King's Lynn Town Reserves while at the bottom end of the table, Dereham Town Reserves will be looking to build on only their second win of the season when they entertain an improved Team Bury. The young Magpies moved off the bottom of the division for the first time this season with a 3-1 Christmas success at Downham Town.

All matches today kick-off at 3pm, except Needham Market Reserves against in-form Woodbridge Town, which starts at 1pm.
