The second round of the FA Vase takes centre stage for Eastern Counties League teams this afternoon.

Norwich United take a break from their dominance of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division when they host another side from step five of the non-league pyramid, AFC Kempston Rovers.

The Bedford side are 11th in the United Counties League Premier Division and stand in the way of a place in the final 32 of the Vase and £1,200 in prize money for the Planters.

Fakenham travel to high-flying UCL Premier Division side Yaxley, while Kirkley & Pakefield play tomorrow away at South Midlands Premier Division side AFC Dunstable.

Great Yarmouth take a break from First Division action today but face tough Vase opposition when they instead host reigning Thurlow Nunn Premier champions Hadleigh United.

There is Norfolk Senior Cup action for both Diss and Gorleston, following managerial changes for both clubs in the past week.

Diss finally parted company with manager Mike Derbyshire last weekend, having lost 15 of their 17 matches this season to sit bottom of the Premier Division table.

That has seen former Downham Town boss Mark Reeve appointed as Diss manager, having previously served as first-team coach under Richard Daniels at Brewers Green Lane.

Reeve has signed Danny Self from Wroxham as a player and his assistant manager and the duo start their reign at Anglian Combination First Division leaders Mulbarton Wanderers in the fourth round of the Senior Cup today.

'The league will 100pc be the bread and butter. The club haven't talked about anything else. So I suppose, without being disrespectful, this is a bit of a gimme of a game to start with,' Reeve said.

'Any players I want to bring in I can't speak to until Monday after the seven days are up. So I'll be giving players a shirt and see if they want to show me they deserve to keep it for our next game against Wivenhoe which is critical.

'It's a really good game for us because there's no real pressure and the boys can go out and show me what they can do.

'The players have clearly been under-performing, that goes without saying if you look at the results. But the players will all get an opportunity. How much of one comes down to their attitude and what I think of them.'

In a further managerial twist, Derbyshire has joined Daniels as joint manager at Gorleston following his Diss exit, who host Downham in the Senior Cup.

In league action, Thetford look to build on their midweek success in the Senior Cup, when they beat Norwich City Under-21s 1-0 at Mundford Road.

The Brecklanders go to sixth-placed Felixstowe & Walton United in the Premier Division, who are jointly managed by former Thetford assistant manager Kevin O'Donnell, looking to end a run of six league games without a win.
