Norfolk's 12U teams finished third in Division One in the latest instalment of the 12 Counties Championships in Corby.

Norfolk opened with defeats against Yorkshire, despite wins for Vianne Palffy and Thomas Blackburn.

The girls responded with a 3-1 win over Hertfordshire, thanks to Palffy again, while the boys found life tough against Herts.

In the final tie, the boys came close to victory against Cheshire as Finlay Rowan and Blackburn won their rubbers and David Matthews narrowly lost in the final set tie-break. But it was not to be as Harry Ketteringham was also beaten at number four.

The girls lost 3-1 to Cheshire – Palffy remained unbeaten, but Maddie Hall, Esme Dickinson and Megan Waghorn lost.
