Late heartbreak at the weekend sends Thetford Town into tonight's Thurlow Nunn Premier Division clash at Woodbridge Town with fire in their bellies.

The Brecklanders were pegged back in the 93rd minute of Saturday's 3-3 draw with Brantham Athletic at Mundford Road, despite having been 2-0 down in the first half and reduced to 10 men in the second half.

Despite that red card for Steve Harley, for a second yellow, Mark Scott's side went into a 3-2 lead thanks to goals from Matt Hayden, Jordan Rocastle and Bruno Tavares.

A late Brantham equaliser saw the points shared and keeps Thetford three points clear of the relegation zone with 10 games to play, much to Scott's frustration.

'We were bitterly disappointed,' the Thetford boss admitted. 'We've been playing some really good stuff of late and went into the game full of confidence.

'Going down to 10 men was hard enough as it was but generally the squad played really, really well and went on to take the lead.

'To have it cruelly snatched away in the 93rd minute was bitterly disappointing.'

Tonight Town travel to bottom-of-the-table Woodbridge, who have rallied after a horrendous start to the season which saw them fail to win any of their 19 league matches, drawing just twice.

However the Suffolk side have now won three of their last seven following a 3-2 at Kirkley & Pakefield, a 'massive result' according to Scott.

'There's been a lot of talk about Woodbridge being bottom of the league and how we should be looking for three points but people forget that when you are down there it is tough because teams are fighting for survival,' he added.

'If you look at Woodbridge's results recently as well, no one has thrashed them, and they have brought a lot of different players in.'

Scott is likely to be without centre-backs Luke Bailey and Nathan Birch for the trip so plans to unleash his 'exciting attacking talent' at Notcutts Park this evening.
