Thetford Town manager Mark Scott hopes plenty of adrenaline will still be pumping through the veins of his players when his team return to action on Saturday.

The Brecklanders enjoyed one of the best nights in the club's history on Tuesday when they beat Norwich City Under-21s 1-0 in the fourth round of the Norfolk Senior Cup.

The victory made for a memorable night at Mundford Road but now Scott must find a way of continuing that form in the league.

Thetford are 15th in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division after a bright start to the season tailed off, losing four and drawing two of their last six league games.

'It's great getting a cup win, and against opposition like Norwich is fantastic, but my priority is always the league,' Scott said.

'We've been struggling of late and conceded a lot of goals so to not concede against better opposition, that's very encouraging, but we've still got to find a way of picking up points in the league and three points against Felixstowe would probably make me as happy.'

Saturday's trip to sixth-placed Felixstowe & Walton United looks set be a big test for Scott's side though, after the high of beating the Canaries.

'We need to take a lot of tonight into Saturday's game,' Scott said after his side's success. 'We're up against my old assistant in Kevin (O'Donnell, Felixstowe joint manager) as well.

'Kevin is very organised, has got some great players there, they're a very hard side to play at home but, again, we've got to be confident going into that game.

'There's one or two here that will take an awful lot from tonight, especially Scotty (Cruickshank, goalkeeper), he's conceded a lot of goals of late but has kept a clean sheet and pulled off a couple of good stops, so he's got to take a lot from that, and hopefully if it comes from him and through the team then we are confident we can go there and give them a good game.'
