Teenage ace Josh Bailey has earned himself a team spot with King's Lynn in the SGB Premiership.
The Norfolk-born racer will share the number seven reserve position with another British youngster who is yet to be confirmed.
Bailey is a well-known figure already at the Adrian Flux Arena. He made his debut for the Young Stars as a 16-year-old during the 2013 National League play-offs. He has remained with King's Lynn's second side ever since and has progressed into one of the country's brightest prospects.
Lynn boss Dale Allitt has been a part of Bailey's journey since day one and says he is delighted to offer him an opportunity in the top flight.
Said Allitt: 'Josh is a local lad and he's almost part of the furniture now at the Adrian Flux Arena. We saw him when he was first starting out and he has just got better and better as part of the club's set-up year on year.
'Josh deserves a chance like this and we feel he can bring a lot to the team this season.
'We feel that a job share role is the best way to go at reserve and we've just been waiting for clarification from the British Speedway Promoters' Association, which we have now received.
'Josh is with the Young Stars once again this year, as well as riding for Scunthorpe in the SGB Championship.
'With a full-time Premiership place as well, that would be over 90 fixtures he is expected to fulfil which we feel would be too demanding on a young rider.
'This way, both Josh and one other up-and-coming rider will get some invaluable top flight experience – but we feel they can be key members of the team too.
'When you look around the rest of the teams, Josh is more than capable of beating the likes of Nathan Greaves, Zach Wajtknecht, Ellis Perks, Danny Ayres, James Shanes etc.
'He's proved he can do that in the National League so there's no reason why he can't do the same in the top flight.
'We've got the 2012 World Champion in our team in Chris Holder, we've got Troy Batchelor who's been around a while now, even Robert Lambert and Lewis Rose are inspirations for Josh - the experience and advice our reserves can pick up from those sorts of people could be totally invaluable.
'It's another example of how our National League set-up works as well. In recent years we've seen Rob Lambert, Lewis Rose and Lewis Kerr elevated into our senior side, Josh is the latest addition to that chain and it makes us all very proud.'
