Swaffham rounded off a memorable season in impressive fashion yesterday when they won the Woodforde's Norfolk Junior Cup for the second year running.
The recently crowned Eastern Counties Division Two champions made it a double celebration by seeing off the challenge of the higher ranked Crusaders in an entertaining final.
Swaffham had beaten the same opposition 18-0 at Little Melton last year to claim the trophy for the first time, and recovered from a 10-5 half-time deficit this time around to ensure history repeated itself at North Pickenham Road.
Crusaders, who had a decent season themselves in Division One, gave a good account of themselves in the first half and led courtesy of a push-over try and a touchdown from Stuart Cameron.
Ryan Bigland was Swaffham's first half scorer.
The second half was a different story, with the home side taking control, much to the delight of a crowd that numbered several hundred.
John Chamberlain and Paddy Callaby both scored tries, converted by Joe Milligan, to take the game away from Crusaders and a second converted try from Bigland from the final play of the game put the icing on the cake for the delighted hosts.
