The 2007 motorsport season at Snetterton kicks off in earnest this weekend with the official season preview for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

BSB features 1000cc road-based bikes competing at circuits around the UK. With Snetterton's Revett Straight being the only place in the country at which Superbikes can reach 200mph, the Norfolk venue is an ideal location for the last test session before the season gets under way at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday.

Japan's Ryuichi Kiyonari took a pair of victories at Snetterton on his way to title glory last year, becoming the first Honda rider to take the British title. Spain's Gregorio Lavilla and Britain's Leon Haslam are once again likely to provide the toughest opposition, and all three title contenders from 2006 will be in attendance for all three days, starting tomorrow.

Joining them will be World Superbike race-winner and fans' favourite Chris Walker. Walker is returning to the domestic series with Rizla Suzuki and is looking forward to hitting top speed at Snetterton once again. He said: “It's not often we get to use full power on the Rizla Suzuki Superbikes but at Snetterton we have plenty of opportunity thanks to the long Revett Straight. The speed trap is in the braking zone, that's why official top speeds are just over 160mph, but in fact we touch 200mph every lap according to our telemetry.”

The test also includes open paddock access, allowing fans to get up close and personal with their favourite riders. Pit walkabouts are also scheduled, with most of the top competitors being on hand to sign autographs.

Tickets for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship season preview at Snetterton cost £12 on the gate, with one ticket valid for all three days of the test. For more information and to view the weekend timetable visit www.snetterton.co.uk
